With the kids off school for a well earned break it is time to step onto the coast and look for some of the East Grampian Coasts fantastic marine life with the East Grampian Coastal Partnership.

Public whale and dolphin watches will be taking place throughout the spring starting on the 8^th of April at the war memorial south of Stonehaven and on the 10^th of April at The Bullars of Bucchan.

Ian Hay, Project Manager for Marine Planning said, ‘Stonehaven Bay is a fantastic place to look for minkie whale and bottlenosed dolphins while the Bullars of Buchan should also have a wide range of nesting seabirds including the ever popular puffin. These watches also help our understanding of these species by recording the sightings for scientific study’.

Telescopes and binoculars are provided and the events run from 11am til 2pm. Please were suitable clothing and sturdy footwere.

25^th April, Kinnaird Head Fraserburgh

30^th April, St Cyrus watchpoint

7^th May, Windows on the Sea, Aberdeen

21^st May, Boddam Lighthouse

4^th June, Stonehaven War Memorial

19^th June, Kinnaird Head
